Why we do not need castes and religion
It was
my friend who makes me think over this question. We were just wandering at
airport. And talking about marriage he was not getting a girl in ‘His Caste’. I
thought we get neighbours according to our financial condition, we get or
become friends with those with whom we are comfortable, we get job according to
our education. As we get our neighbours, friends and job according to our
financial condition, comfort and education respectively. In the same way we get
married with the person from our caste or religion. Now is this (caste or
Religion) the only thing that makes ‘Jodies’ like ‘Rab Wali’. I think this must
not be like this. Is this why we need the caste and religion for?
I know orthodox and dogmatist are
going irritate by this question. But actually we really don’t need religion at
all. I really mean it. I can think my life without religion. I have been
thinking that if we eliminate castes and religions from the society or from
India or say from our India. Just imagine many of the problems get
automatically eliminated. If we count the genocides in the world, the reason we
got always will be religion caste and further at the global level it is race.
Who can forget Hitler’s cruelty?
Whatever it may the feeling ‘they
do not belong to us’ make us feel uncomfortable. I may be wrong it is not in
the case of India only but it is worldwide concern. Myanmar, Bangladesh, Nepal
are burning issues or examples of the same problem. The reason may be the race
but the feeling is the same that is ‘they do not belong to us.’ The world is
facing serious threat from the propagations of dogmatic Muslim organisation IS.
For them we are ‘not belong to them’ or better to say Kafir. This is not the
case with Muslims only. For each and every religion others are ‘not belong to
them’.
Let’s focus India. Here lives
mostly all the religions of world. Conversion, Sunta, Diksha or Gharvapsi are
daily headlines here. Here lies the discrimination among classes and castes.
Though constitution treats everybody equal, equality has not rooted yet. I mean
to say that unless we do not get rid of castes and religions, we do not make
ourselves equal. Let me make it simple. It is like pouring the tea in the cup
which is already filled with tea. What we need to do is make the cup empty and
then pour the fresh tea. Now what we are doing is that we are glued to the
castes and religions and talking about equality. How can we become equal if we
do not leave the Thing that makes us different?
Some castes, religions and races
are really exploited, cheated, killed and much more had happened. The reason is
‘they are not belonging to us.’ If this is what the result of being or not
being of any religion is, it is good to belong ‘no religion at all.’ I think,
‘Religion should play the role of saviour not the destroyer.’ If it can save
us, we will save it. If it is destroying us, let’s destroy it first.
